I would like to appreciate ST&IT for its initiatives being taken towards transformation of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa economy from resource based to knowledge based. As everyone knows about the changing scenario of global economy i.e. increased dependency on knowledge creation. This would require an adopting of integrated approach to ensure the shift to the knowledge-based economy with ST&IT as the torch bearer. The mission of ST&IT spells out the building of knowledge society as an important milestone in reaching the destination. The initiatives taken by ST&IT are very essential to the achievement of the goal of knowledge-based economy. This would surely convert the population of the province to human resource. The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will provide all possible support to Directorate of Science & Technology (ST&IT) in its endeavors that respond to the needs of the people and achieving the dream of the government of self-sufficiency in every aspect of life. As it is rightly said that while the last century was about 'haves and have not' the current century is about connected and non-connected.
Dr. Ali has done his Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Brunel University London as an HEC scholar and B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology Peshawar. He lead the digital transformation process in the Industrial Sector in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC). He was among two Pakistanis to receive an award in digital transformation at The World CIO 200 Summit 2019. In a prior role, he established the Center for Intelligent Systems and Networks Research (CISNR) where he did various projects on Smart Grids, Internet of Things, and Deep Learning. The products and solutions he developed in a previous role have been implemented for various Government Agencies.We are confident that under Dr. Ali Mahmud's leadership, the organization will prosper and will make the province a digital hub of Pakistan.
